Start a Herbal Colon Cleanse Today

Friday, September 25th, 2009

by Eleanor Candy

There are many types of colon cleanses that we can do today and one of the most effective is a natural herbal colon cleanse. Over time a build up of waste can be found in the colon and when it gets too much for the body to handle our bodies don’t perform as well as they used to.

Depending on the types of food that you eat there could be quite a lot of waste in the colon that can cause health problems such as bad digestion, bloating, gas, constipation, skin rashes, allergies, fatigue and also low absorption of vitamins and minerals.

There are many herbs that can help cleanse your colon such as black wallnut, licorice root, irish moss, hibiscus flower and psyllium seeds. By using natural herbs you will be cleansing the colon and not getting any nasty allergic reactions.

While on any herbal colon cleanse it is important to drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins out of the body. Try to eat light meals also will help clear out the waste out of your body much faster. The first few days you may want to stay close to the bathroom as you will be removing most of the waste.

Going on a herbal cleanse at least once a year ensures that their is no build up of waste and bacteria in the colon. It can also be a breeding ground for harmful parasites which absorb all the vitamins and minerals that you put into your body.

Staying on a healthy diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables will minimize the build up of waste that sticks to the walls of your colon. Eating too much meat in your diet can also clog up your colon and is important to stay on a well balanced diet.

Besides being a great supplement for your weight loss goals, it also has plenty of other health benefits and is often referred to as a super food because of the fact that it is highly nutritious. So what is the Acai berry juice exactly? The berry is a red colored fruit that is commonly found and is grown in both Central and South America, specifically in the jungles of Brazil. Through research, it has been found out that the berry is actually rich in anti-oxidants, is beneficial for weight loss and helps in preventing some heart related diseases. As for its health benefits, not only does it lower your cholesterol level it is also rich in fiber, amino acids as well as various other vitamins and minerals that are all great for you. It helps you lose weight the quick, efficient and healthy way.

As for weight loss, in particular, any expert would recommend for you to eat plenty of foods that are rich in anti-oxidants and the Acai burn is one of them. After all, fruits in general should be a part of a person’s healthy diet regardless of whether or not they help in weight loss. The side effects are really only for those people who are either hypersensitive to berries or have pollen allergies. Other than that, the fruit is super safe to eat and the same goes for the products that are made from it. The juice in particular is a great addition to your everyday diet and is something that you could easily introduce to your daily meals.

Finally, remember to always consult a doctor before taking medical advice online.

The Amazing Acai Berry Juice Of Brazil

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

We have all heard about the benefits of antioxidants for our health.  Research has proven the benefits for everything from anti-aging to more serious diseases like heart disease and cancer.  Antioxidants occur naturally in healthy fruits and vegetables. Blueberries, cranberries, grapes and other fruits all have high antioxidant contents and the acai berry from the rainforests of Brazil boasts some of the most antioxidant levels of any fruit.

The acai berries are harvested in the Brazilian rainforest from acai palms that can reach in excess of 60 feet.  These are the same palms used to harvest the delicious hearts of palm.  The acai berry fruit itself is about the size of a large blueberry yet only the outer skin of the fruit and the pulp are edible.  The acai berry also contains a large, inedible seed.

Recently the acai berry and the acai berry juice have been touted as “superfoods” in the United States, Europe and Canada.  Sales of acai berry products have skyrocketed as the acai berry has been touted as a metabolism booster, a solution to weight loss and an athletic enhancer.  The claims even include the prevention of diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

The acai berry and of course, along with that, acai berry juice boasts an extremely large range of macronutrients, micronutrients and trace elements.  It has healthy carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, a broad range of essential amino acids and a complement of vitamins and minerals.  Acai berry has been proven to have remarkably high antioxidant activity.

Theoretically, high antioxidant activity may help prevent diseases that are caused by oxidative stress such as heart disease and cancer.  The acai berry contains several substances with antioxidant properties called flavonoids and anthocyanins.  The anthocyanins are the substance that is responsible for the deep red and blue colors of many of the healthiest fruits in the world, including blueberries, grapes and of course the acai berry.  Flavonoids are substances known for their high antioxidant activities.

Many scientific studies have shown that the pulp of the acai berry has one of the strongest antioxidant capacities of all of the healthiest fruits.  While blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries are all loaded with antioxidants, it is believed that the more rare acai berry contains more than all of these.  Even so, the most important thing is to consume at least 5 portion of high antioxidant fruits a day and acai berries or acai berry juice is a good solution to help you doing this.

Acai berries have only recently become well known past Brazil and around the world.  The reason for this is that the acai berry itself is highly perishable and it has only been within the past five years or so that products have been made with processed acai berries.  People in many parts of the world have only recently had the opportunity to use and consume acai berry products.

Acai berries and acai berry juice can be a strong component to a healthy diet.  High nutritional value is a valid addition of any successful and healthy weight loss regimen.  It is also well known that a healthy immune system is boosted by the introduction of foods with high antioxidant activity and acai berry is one of the best.

Eliminate Wrinkles with Facial Exercises

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Not everyone understands that wrinkling is a natural part of life. The skin decreases in quality due to stress and other factors, but most commonly due to age. Naturally, aging is part of the human condition. It is not a negative process at all! But there are people out there who are deeply concerned and adamant to do anything to look young and fresh no matter what.

As we age, our skin loses moisture and elasticity making it prone to wrinkles. Although let’s face it, nobody wants to look like a zombie or a living corpse. That’s why people flock to beauty stores to get their hands on the latest anti wrinkle creams. These products are so famous for its ability to improve the skin’s texture. Almost all promise a moisturizing effect and a way to fight off the damaging UV rays. Wherever you look countless television ads, billboards and magazines have their own way of lessening the chances of you having saggy cheeks, pale skin color and an unattractive jaw-line. And the curious person that you are, you religiously listen to all of them, hoping against hope that you will be spared of the aging phenomenon. As much as you would like that to happen, inevitably your skin would age. Whether you like it or not, you won’t be 18 forever. This unwanted occurrence has been explained by skin specialists. Here are a few of the reasons why we end up looking like raisins in the future:

  • the sun is the main culprit, with its UV rays damaging the skin condition. Exposure to the sun destroys the collagen and fibers which support your skin, keeping it bouncy. When these fibers stiffen, the skin droops, and creases into wrinkles.
  •

  • smoking activates the release of free radicals, which are highly reactive molecules that also damages the skin
  •

  • unhealthy eating habits, especially the lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet; our skin needs the vitamins and minerals from these foods to regenerate and rejuvenated the cells
  •

  • can be inherited from your parents
  •

  • the collagen found on our skin becomes used up, this deteriorates our muscles making our skin to sag as a result
  •

Dermatologists have many tools for tackling those little lines that mark the passage of time. They include:

  • see a certified skin expert or if money is not a problem, go see a plastic surgeon (although this is option is not for everybody)
  •

  • prescription creams, chemical peels, and injections of the toxin Botox, which paralyses facial muscles momentarily
  •

  • Pile your plate with plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. These provide vitamins A, C and E – antioxidants that block harmful free radicals before they can cause skin damage.
  •

  • Exfoliate your skin twice weekly. This eliminates dead, dry skin cells, and encourages the production of healthy new cells. Smooth, exfoliated skin absorbs moisturizer better, and so is better hydrated.
  •

If you’re tired of spending too much money on making your skin look radiant, here is a fresher and cheaper approach in making your skin look younger. Facial toning will do a great deal to promote a smooth and wrinkle-free skin, and a vibrant glowing picture of health. There’s an olden system of traditional medicine native to India known as Ayurveda. This science promotes the use of massage and facial exercises which they believe will help slow down the aging process and lessens the chance of having wrinkles.

These natural face lift will not take a great effort or too much time in achieving a smoother skin. You can’t get more cost-effective than these facial exercises. The lines, wrinkles, folds and bags in our faces are not really wrinkles and lines as such, but are the supportive muscles in your face going soft – losing firmness, and not supporting the skin any more. Facial exercises can help you with creating that facelift look without having any surgeries.

Wrinkled skin bears no relation to your worth as a person. People do not love you for your wrinkles, or lack thereof. By maintaining a healthy skin you will only develop subtle wrinkles, which will trace your most frequent facial expressions. Smile!

Nutrition For Active Dogs – Supplements To Help Your Working Dog

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Welcome to the wonderful world of doggy nutrition! Active dogs especially those sporting and working breeds don’t always get everything they need from even the best commercial dog foods. Supplements should be given to all dogs and for the athletes of the canine world, you will want to give them extra supplements! Dogs who are moderate to extremely active need nutritional boosts to keep up with their high energy and stamina needs. A healthy active dogs needs a ratio of 40% – 45% fats and close to 50% protein. Supplements to give your active canine are : Antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, fruits and vegetables, Omegas 3 fatty acids, and Probiotics and enzymes. All this a bit much? Well let’s take them one by one! While your looking around at supplements you will also want to check out these very nice pet carriers for your dog right away.

Antioxidants are substances that control oxidation or reactions promoted by oxygen, peroxides, or free radicals. Simply what that means is that when your dog whether they moderately active or intermediatly to highly active dogs exercise regularly or intensly their bodies increase the amount of free radicals( produced in the body by natural biological processes or introduced from an outside source (as tobacco smoke, toxins, or pollutants) and that can damage cells, proteins, and DNA by altering their chemical structure) and oxidative damage to the body. Antioxidants are necessary to any dog’s diet regardless of breed or activity level. Antioxidants are also going to boost the immune system, promote coronary and vascular health, as well as improve circulation! Antioxidants can be found in fruits and vegetables that are rich in colors. Antioxidants can also be found in supplements such as Vitamin C, E, flavenoids, and Beta Caratene. You will definitely want to take a peek at these airline dog crates right now for your pet. The pet needs one of these badly.

Vitamins and Minerals are a no brainer! It is common sense that your dog needs them in order to be healthy and making sure your dog is getting the essentials means more than reading commercial dog food labels! Increases in activity and exercise means more demands for Vitamins C and B-Complex. These two vitamins are two major players to the team of Healthy Dog! Vitamin C supports the immune system and Vitamin B- Complex is going to give your dog healthy skin, muscles, and blood. In alot of high quality commercial dog foods already come enriched with many vitamin and minerals but there are also natural foods that should be added to their diets. If you are still unsure that your dog is not getting their vitamins and minerals or they have a sensitivity to some natural food sources, then always consult with your veterinarian and he or she should be able to give you vitamin and mineral supplements that are for dogs!

Right off, you wouldn’t think that fruits and vegetables would be foods you’d give your dog. Dogs by nature are carnivores but they also can tolerate some fruits and vegetables added to their diets. There are even some owners of whom are vegetarians that provide their beloved pets with vegetarian diets as well. Fruits and vegetables are just as high in vitamins and minerals as organ meats(livers, kidney,ect.). Not every dog though will embrace vegetables and fruits added to their diets so you will want to get a pill supplement. If your still a little confused on how to use pill supplements for vitamin and minerals here is a good guide: Small dogs should take 50 mg of Vitamin C per day and 500 mg for large dogs. B-complex vitamins should contain 4-5 mg of niacin for a dog weighing 35 lb. You will also want to view these products right now for your dog. Take a look at dog shampoo right away for your doggie. Your dog really needs these items, pick them up today!

Probiotics and Enzymes, just to hear those words probably has you thinking of some sort of lab experiment, huh? Well I assure you they are much more simpler than that! When your dog eats, as he chews the digestion process has already started! Saliva and enzymes in the mouth and stomach are already dispatched to break down the food. Not all foods react well with your dog’s system. So to combat vomiting, diarrhea, and other stress related digestion disorders, Probiotics and Enzyme supplements is the answer! What these two combinations do for your dog is they replace the depleation of enzymes that your dog loses when they exercise, are sick, environmental issues such as pollution, pregnacy, stress, or even accidents can cause your dog to have a depleation of enzymes. Probiotics and Enzymes are best given in the form of a chewable tablet but can also come in powders. Again, this is a great topic for your veternarian who can help steer you to a great product as well as give you a food list to incorporate in your dog’s diet.

Fatty acids aren’t acids like acid in the stomach, but are sequences of strings of carbon molecules linked with single or double bonds. The location of the double bond determines whether it’s called an Omega 3 or an Omega 6 fatty acid. Omega 3 fatty acids have the first double bond at the 3rd carbon: ALA (alpha linolenic acid), EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Omega 6 fatty acids have the first double bond at the 6th carbon: LA (linoleic acid) and GLA (gamma linolenic acid). Whew! That is a lot you probably didn’t learn unless you took biochemistry! Don’t worry, basically Omega 3s are unsaturated fats that are found in most green leafy vegtables, eggs, fish, and other sources. Your dog can either get their Omega 3s in an enriched high quality dog food, a raw diet, or in a supplement! These are really important for your dog’s hormonal health and for the health of their hearts. Omega Fatty Acids are going to give your dog longevity, increased intelligence because the neurons in their brains are going to fire and be more productive, a reduction in many health related conditions such as arthritis, atopia, and cancer, and the list goes on! From anything physiological to emotional and behavioral health; Omega’s will have your dog covered! Excellent sources of Omega-3 include cod liver oil, fish oil, flaxseed oil, and animal sources. These are essential to add to your beloved canine companion’s diet!

As you can see, adding supplements whether naturally in food sources or in pill or powder forms are essential for their overall health and wellbeing. By utilizing supplements and healthier foods you are giving your pet the very best in care and you are giving them a longer life!
