The Latest in Personalized Gifts Selections

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

When you give a gift truly personalized to the recipient, you say something very important. You communicate that the recipient is someone who is important enough to warrant going the “extra mile” in selecting something special. As times grow evermore hectic and harried, it is difficult to find the time to shop and find the perfect gift.

Personalized gifts and jewelry is an obvious choice, especially if you’re giving a gift to a loved one. Your imagination is the only limit on the wide variety of personalized jewelry items available. Personalized rings, bracelets, rings and pendants are all options if you’re looking for something to make individual to the recipient. Classic examples of personalized jewelry include monogrammed pieces as well as items bearing initials and names. Thinking creatively, though, you can go even further. Engraving phrases or poems with personal meaning is one idea for gifts for him. Giving a necklace with charms corresponding to the number of children or grandchildren a woman has is another idea.

With the advent of the Internet, plenty of unique options exist for less intimate personalized gifts. For the child that loves to read, perhaps you choose a personalized book or game. It’s even possible to purchase CDs with songs sung with the child’s name. The point is that creative minds all over have come up with amazing ways to personalize gifts in unique and wonderful ways.

For the man in your life, personalized gifts are available as well for gifts for dad. Of course, the monogrammed ring is a classic favorite, so don’t assume personalized jewelry is restricted to women. However, if the man is not the jewelry type, many other options exist. Personalizing golf clubs, mounting sports equipment, or engraving a watchband are all possibilities.

It takes some thinking to determine the things that are most important to an individual. Identifying hobbies, pursuits and passions of your recipient is the key to understanding the best gift and method of personalization. Don’t rule out experiences personalized to the individual. Many restaurants and destinations have means by which they can offer a personalized experience to an individual.

Giving a gift with a degree of personalization, such as personalized jewelry, says to the recipient that you care enough to take the time to select something special. Everyone struggles to find time to fit it all in. By selecting something individualized, it shows a special level of care. The gift recipient will feel like the gift was selected with them particularly in mind.

Do Bionaire Air Purifiers Actually Work?

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Let’s start by discussing the difference between an air cleaner and an air purifier. Air cleaning is when harmful particles are filtered from the air utilising a filter.  An air purifier goes a step further and kills harmful bacteria, mold, and viruses.  Ionic air purifiers are referred to as purifiers, they do not operate as purifiers because they do not kill harmful material.

Ionic air purifiers are popular because the science behind them makes sense and because they are energy efficient and use very little energy.  It is usually unnecessary to change the air filters of ionic air purifiers; which is a great cost saving benefit. One must however weigh up the advantages of true air purifiers that go that extra mile in producing a healthy environment.

One downside of ionic air purifiers are that they cause particles to fall to the floor or to other areas of the room.  Since nearly all surfaces in a room are positively charged, particles falling from the ionic air are attracted to a room’s surfaces.  This results in congregations of dirt and dust around the ionic air purifier. Although removed to the air, these dirt particles can be quickly kicked up back into the atmosphere, rendering the process a little ineffective.

In 2005 research revealed that ionic air purifiers failed to clean the air properly. Furthermore, they found that an ionic air purifier could actually add harmful levels of ozone to the air.  High levels of ozone are toxic and can damage the lungs and the respiratory system.

Bearing all of this in mind, what is the best solution to creating a healthy environment in your home?

Keeping a healthy living environment in your home, does depend largely on where you live, and what the climate is like.

For example, in certain climates, a humidifier can be a great boon. The Bionaire Warm Mist range of humidifiers do offer great benefits to those with skin conditions for example. A moist environment will help those with dry skin for example. A side benefit is that a humid atmosphere will also benefit some natural materials such as leather.

As you can see from the previous discussions, some serious questions have been raised about ionic air purifiers. Bionaire have been producing air purifiers for many years and have some of the best on the market. Bionaire Air Purifiers use a filtering system for removing particles from the air, which has proven to be very effective in the treatment of poor air quality.

Bionaire Hepa Air Purifiers goes another step and utilises HEPA technology to clean your air for you. For those that suffer from asthma or other allergen related conditions, this is probably the best alternative to achieving high quality air in your home. In our opinion, the Bionaire air purifiers will work better than any ionic air purifier around.
